Hearing aids have small working parts, and it is not uncommon for a hearing aid to need a repair over time. You may try to turn the hearing aid on in the morning and find that there is no sound. We will have taught you how to get your hearing aid working again at your fitting appointment, but even if you change your battery or wax guard, the aid may continue to malfunction. These things do happen even when the hearing aids are properly cared for. If you should find that your hearing aid needs repair, bring your hearing aid(s) to Blossom Hearing Center. They are equipped to diagnose broken hearing aids. Some minor hearing aid repairs can be done in the office in a few minutes; others will need to be sent to the manufacturer for repair. Most factory repairs will be back in our office in about a week and I half. Our Audiologists can help determine what kind of a repair is necessary and what the factory repair charge will be.
Even if they were not fit in our office, we are happy to try to repair your hearing aids. We are able to service most major manufacturers of hearing aids and can tell if yours is a brand we service. Hearing aids come with a warranty when purchased new. If your warranty has expired, it is still possible to repair most hearing aids for a fee. Depending on the age of the hearing aid, a factory repair may come with a new 6 or 12 month warranty. Our staff will provide you with details when you bring your hearing aid into the office.
